WoW As Always
AIM with its polymath creator, Wendy Maxwell, never disappoints. Nor ceases to amaze me.
I now have three grandchildren running around the house with gestures, chanting "Comme ci, Comme ça"
Astonishing because one of them had never said a word of French in his life. Not even after years of doing "Bonjour Babies"
The two boys are rugby and cricket stars. While the girl is sharp and wants to learn.
I told them if they progress satisfactorily I shall take them to France!!!

I love AIM and my kit of Les Trois Petits Cochons.
Wendy Maxwell is a genius. In creating AIM she has single handedly changed the teaching of French throughout the world. She is respectful to all in the program. And always accessible to reply to my questions.
I attended an introduction program in Melbourne delivered by Jen Mckinney, an excellent presenter who inspired me to join the AIM team.
I have been in love with French since I was three years old. And teaching French for 50 years. AIM is the most exciting thing to have happened to me. The beginning of a new French era for me!
The AIM kit is beautifully produced. Top quality components. Thick, smooth glossy paper, brilliant colours and top videos.
The attention to detail is impressive. For each Activity there is a transcript in French. So the teacher has solid scaffolding and can easily match the gestures with the pared down language.
Hats off to Wendy! She deserves all the awards, honours and praise...

I got an enormous amount from my 2 day on demand training with AIM and would highly recommend it. I had a few technical difficulties but I received a quick response from ANZ AIM.
The online portal is extremely handy when I quickly want to look up a gesture. It takes me ages to learn new gestures and spaced repetition is very handy and at my fingertips. Please don’t take the portal away because I really rely on it.
It was good to review and revisit activities. It also reminded me of where to find things in the kits and made me rethink how where I could incorporate these vocab activities.
A great resource for teachers and fun for the students. The portal is an integral part of the resource package; couldn't do without it, especially for teaching the gestures.
I love teaching with AIM. I used it for my last 6 years of teaching and am now starting to work with adults in my retirement. Best system I’ve ever used.
As with everything Wendy Maxwell does, the Aim Free Lesson is A!. Loads of energy and fun. And unadulterated learning.
I am so thrilled I found AIM. It is the perfect program for my grandchildren.
Though it's for children, I can see no reason why it could not be used for adults...

I remain very impressed with AIM and Wendy Maxwell. I am using AIM to teach my three grandchildren French.
The oldest, 11 years old, started French at the beginning of 2024. He joined a new school. All his fellow students had been doing French for five years. So he was thrown in the deep end, without a paddle.
He equitted himself well. Our aim is for him to return to school full of confidence. Sprouting French to the teacher and class.
AIM is unique because it immediately immerses students in French. It's easy for them to get the hang of...
Wendy is awesome amazing super intelligent a polymath. To have invented AIM is extraordinary. Her communication is top notch. She is polite and so prompt in her replies to my questions.
And for some one so gifted, she is humble ...

After only watching the introductory video and seeing how the AIM methodology is applied in the classroom, it seems to me a brilliant way to teach second languages. The principles that underpin the AIM approach make perfect sense to me, and cleverly mimic the immersive nature of first language acquisition. I am intrigued to try it out.

Thank you, Holly, we are so happy that you find the Gesture Database useful. :)
I love AIM. I have been using the old version of Les trois petits cochons and won't be using the new version until September, but I love the updated version. Everything is well detailed and explained.

I am so happy that you enjoy using AIM, Nadia! I learned a lot about what teachers understand about AIM over the years and am glad that you like the improvements to the New Edition Kits. :)
This database and portal makes things so much easier!
I love to be able to type in the word and find the associated gesture right away!
The session was very productive and informative!
We are starting a new online school and we’d love to have AIM as our preferred language teaching partner!!

Thank you, Mohamed, very much, for joining us today! It was such a pleasure to meet you and I am thrilled that you are considering AIM. I look forward to keeping in touch!
I have been using this resource for a few years now, and LOVE IT! Because it is gesture based, the students respond really well to prompts and it makes it possible to teach a lesson entirely in French. The vocabulary is appropriate for my grade level (Grade 2 FRIMM) and the catchy songs, Readers' Theatre, grammar lessons, and integrated portal videos make the value of this product beyond my expectations. It does take some time to learn the gestures, but you can do it! I learn a few more every year, and invested in the gesture data-base to help me out in the beginning. Try it, you'll love it too!
I’m excited that she’s now doing session 2 with you and learning even more. I have recommended you to some of her friends and others in my neighbourhood. I will continue to spread the word!”
“Love teaching again. I’ve been looking for years to try and teach in the target language 100% of the time no one could show me how and I could not figure it out. This method lays it all out for you and I’ve even become more confident in French. I’m the teacher I’ve always wanted to be.”
“I want to say ‘Thank you – Merci :)’ from the bottom of my heart for teaching [my daughter]. You are an AMAZING TEACHER!!! She’s learning well and when she’s not in class with you, she shows off her French speaking skills to everyone at home. Thank you again!
“What has amazed everyone is the easy at which the students are communicating, the enthusiasm they demonstrate and how incredible fast they make the leap into written work! You have made and incredible product…how could anyone go back to the “old ways”.
I have a principal who asked permission to speak in English in my grade 5 class, and you could guess, the class told him he had to speak in French. I could go on and on and on …..
“I’m enjoying using your method more and more. I’m sure you have heard a lot of praise and all kinds of positive feedback, but I want you to know that using AIM is also having some really good effects on my health! I cannot believe that so many Core French teachers still have to scramble constantly, panicking, looking for ideas and materials on the internet. My background is teaching ESL (mostly EFL in previous years) and the program was always more concrete, with fantastic resources from top-notch British publishers. My ESL teaching was surrounded by solid methods, great support and feedback for years and years. It was a true pleasure to teach English in my home country, Hungary, and even more joy to continue my teaching career in Toronto, offering language instruction to students of so many nationalities. ….. Then I decided to learn and then teach French, and I suddenly found myself in a huge mess! Very stressful, ridiculous French-teaching world in Canada. (I hear there have been decades of it!!!) I have tried so many books, worksheets, lessons and ideas from other French teachers, but only now that I seriously switched to AIM, do I really see a true sense of this Core French teaching. (I kind of touched AIM 10 years ago, then I was sucked back into the swamp of mish-mash teaching.) I see the benefits already. I love, for example, how the rewards and positive reinforcement makes such a difference. Teaching 33 gr 7/8 students was a complete nightmare, until I switched to AIM a month ago, and now we are on a dynamic journey together. Totally more work than before but it is so worth it. …Back to my health as a Core French teacher in this country: I literally feel my blood pressure normalize. My anxiety is going. Your created a truly meaningful and fun system!
“This is a very well thought out methodology! From scaffolding, setting high expectations, fluency, internalization, etc, it allows students to read, speak and think in the target language. I plan to use AIM for the rest of my career.”
“I see success every time I use the AIM Program (which is everyday!). I can’t believe how, over a decade ago, it has provided me with the perfect tools to impart the importance of second language learning to others in a fun and confidence-building way. I should be thanking YOU for his opportunity to see everyday success stories. So, THANK YOU!”
“I couldn’t be more amazed and thrilled with my students’ success. Every day I go into work, I feel like I am making a difference. as a FSL teacher, I feel so successful because finally my students feel successful. The spontaneous speech that is occurring between the students is becoming more and more natural and much more frequent… that has never happened in any FSL class I have taught in 7 years. I cannot wait to introduce more students next year to French.. I am already looking excited for them. Some of my students this year feel confident enough with their French (grade 4, first year) that during their library time, they take out French books (we are a dual track school).
“AIM is the most effective (and fun!) language learning program I know. My students and I were able to stay in the target language from the first day and grow our ability to engage in critical thinking – out loud and in writing – through this amazing program. What started out in kindergarten and grade 1 as plays about farm animals and lost cats, turned into being able to engage with texts about climate change, the dangers of landmines in Afghanistan, the Warsaw Zoo during the Holocaust, diverse cultural traditions, navigating life with divorced parents entering new relationships, the history of Acadia, the origins of French language education rights in Canada, biodiversity, current events… I could go on.
“We are hiring a high school Spanish teacher for my school next year, so I had one candidate observe my classes a couple weeks ago. She was blown away by the students’ ability to speak spontaneously in the target language. Her response was, “Why in the world are all schools in the US not teaching Spanish this way? This is so much better than learning numbers and colors again and again each year!” I am hopeful that as more and more people hear about the AIM program in the US, its popularity here will grow. It is so much better than what most schools here are doing!”
“The Webinars were one of the most exciting learning experiences I have had recently. It was so great to learn, discuss, collaborate and share with colleagues from all over, including other ‘Canadian provinces, and the U.S.-Lousiana, New Hampshire. Thanks so much AIM Language learning for the wonderful professional development opportunity!”
“I loved the Online Teacher Training. It was excellent. I loved it. I was a classroom teacher and found the AIM and took the OTT and became a French teacher. I wouldn’t teach French any other way. I loved the modules. They allowed me to prepare on my own, try things out in the classroom, find out what was working and what was not working and then take my questions to the Summer Institute.”
“Wendy, I can’t tell you enough how much I am enjoying using this program at our school. I am teaching core French to grades 2-8, and this is really the first full year of rolling it out for all of those grades. I am AMAZED at how students are starting to communicate with me, how enthusiastic most students are, and that this really works. I am truly enjoying my job and seeing the fruits of it. My youngest students are my favorite, because I am starting their French at the very beginning with them, and they are blowing me away. I just about fell off my chair when they ACTUALLY said the play while I gestured it for them.
